Itinerary
project overviewEveryone loves a good road trip, right? Join Coonley on a virtual road trip (save on gas money) to explore digital tools that can enhance your curriculum. This self-paced professional development will introduce you to some new tools while learning from your colleagues at the same time.
how does this work? |
why?Summer is a great time to learn at your own pace! Each tool can be used in your classroom as a formative or summative assessment of your students' learning. Posting to a common blog will give you a chance to join in your colleagues' journey and increase the chances that you'll learn (or suggest) new ways to use digital tools with fluency.
|
This website contains 12 different challenges to choose from. Each challenge will give you a chance to learn the tool and create a sample artifact. When you are finished you will be asked to post a short reflection and a link to your artifact on a common blog. You will be asked to complete 8* challenges and to respond to (at least) 8 blog posts written by your colleagues. We would LOVE to see you join Twitter and tweet about your journey!
*Already on Twitter? CONGRATS!! If you have tweeted during the school year using your Twitter account that counts as one of your challenges! See the Twitter page for more info.

For the average tech user it should take no more than 8 hours to complete 8 challenges. You can travel at your own pace! Some people may prefer to take one challenge a week while others may choose to sit down and knock the whole thing out in one day. Just remember- you get out of it what you put into it.

Ready to get started? All of the module pages have the same layout:
Left side- the tool, the challenge, the steps, the possibilities and 'drive a bit further' to learn more. Right side- tool icon, type of assessment, type of tool (web-based or iOS app), things to know and where applicable a "Coonley Connection". Once you are packed and ready to go you can begin on any challenge! Be sure to check out the "Off Road Adventure" to learn about an opportunity to introduce us to a new tool. The "Rules of the Road" page will give you more guidance about posting to the blog. |
interested in carpooling? If you would prefer to get hands-on help or enjoy the scenery with other learners we can schedule a time to come to Coonley and work together!
